20031023 Major Events

The College and Beijing University jointly host an academic seminar entitled “Protecting the Spiritual Environment and Humanistic Concern” at the Yingjie Exchange Center of Beijing University. The seminar topic was: “The relation between body and mind in the tradition of East Asian thought and its contemporary significance”. Scholars from China and Taiwan deliver 22 papers in total. Master Sheng Yen is also invited to deliver a keynote speech entitled “Modern People and Protecting the Spiritual Environment from the Perspective of East Asian Thought”. Master Sheng Yen, Chairman of the Dharma Drum Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences, and Prof. Chi Hui-sheng, vice president of Beijing University, sign two agreements regarding “ Dharma Drum Lecture Series in Humanities at Beijing University” and “ Dharma Drum Humanities Scholarship at Beijing University”
