2011 Cross-Strait NGO Empowerment Forum

Eleven years ago (September, 2000), the Preparatory Office of the University organized the“Cross-Strait Young Scholars Forum”to foster cross-strait cultural and educational exchanges. The University also co-hosted the“Protecting the Spiritual Environment and Humanistic Concern”forum with Beijing University (in October, 2003), Nanjing University (in April, 2005), and Zhongshan University (in March, 2006) to cultivate trust and cooperation in cultural exchange and social care between China and Taiwan.

Based on the past achievements, the University continues to deepen the dialogue and collaboration among NGO scholars and practitioners. Hence, the University, in collaboration with the Center of Civil society and Local Governance of National Chengchi University, Zhi-Shan Foundation, Third Sector Education Foundation and the CEO Club, initiated the Cross-Strait NGO Empowerment Forum. This forum is expected to serve as a platform and catalyst to enhance cooperation and synergy among NGOs in Chinese societies.
